Beachside Exploration
|
The Exploration Center is open for the summer season, 10-4 daily through Labor Day (check out our activities). Bring the kids to Easton's Beach in Newport for an ocean of fun and learning. And meet our newest resident, a rare calico lobster (1 in 30 million)!

Our naming contest for the calico lobster gave rise to many creative monikers, but the winning name is ... Clawdious! The name was submitted by Gabriel Tiger Tracy, age 7. Gabriel won a goodie bag and a gift card to The Barking Crab, the awesome restaurant the donated the rarely spotted (pun intended) lobster. Clawdious is already a Rhode Island celebrity: Watch this NBC10 News story by R.J. Heim.
