PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH

At the Save The Bay Center -- a model of green architecture and energy efficiency -- we utilize our unique urban coastal location by offering a range of on-site programs to surrounding communities and schools. After surveying the rocky shore and salt marsh or collecting plankton at the dock, students analyze their findings in our labs, which makes learning more meaningful and longer lasting. In this living classroom, students gain a better understanding of the issues affecting Narragansett Bay, including the threats posed by climate change.

Our Shoreline Swap (preK - Adult)  involves a shoreline habitat exploration coupled with your choice of program (a classroom and/or shipboard program). In Green Tech to Clean Bay (ages 3-Adult), participants hear the Save The Bay Center’s restoration story and learn about its sustainable design, as well as ways these practices can be incorporated into other sites.

PRICING:

  • Shoreline Swap (without shipboard program): 2-3 hrs; $300 for 30 participants; $8 for each additional student
  • Shoreline Swap (including shipboard): see our regular shipboard prices; $10 for each additional student
  • Green Tech to Clean Bay: 1-1.5 hrs; $120 for 20 participants
